The Ice House
Michael Gaudreau
$350.00

Dimensions: 12 x 12
Media: oil on birch panel
Artist Statement : This is a plein air piece of a small ice house surrounded by white azaleas When I look for subjects to paint, I am drawn to and seek out that “moment of light”- the quality of light in the early morning and dusk that illuminates and transforms ordinary things like rocks or buildings, turning them into something extraordinary. I also am captivated by bursts of color in the landscape that often seem to present themselves, like a gift, and try to incorporate that same element of surprise in my painting. Hopefully, the energy and emotion I feel when painting is expressed through the layering of colors and my mark-making.

Dimensions: 8 x 8 x 1
Media: Photo shows Philadelphia Mummers after the annual parade. It’s a modified digital photo on fine art paper, signed on front, limited edition. Unframed photo is 5” x 5” in an 8” x 8” frame with museum quality glass.
Artist Statement : In Tales of a Consulting Detective, Sherlock Holmes said: “You see, but you do not observe. The distinction is clear.” I take my camera out. I may choose a subject; I may think “that would make a great picture”; I may visit a new place or one I’ve seen before. I want to observe and to present things in a way that causes the viewer to stop and observe. We have the technology to immediately capture whatever is in front of us. The challenge is for people to slow down; to question whether there is only one way to look at something; and to search for new meaning in something they may have seen before.

Il Pellicano
Il Pellicano
Cristine Kuckelman
$350.00

Dimensions: 11.5 x 11.5 x 2
Media: Textured acrylic on canvas
Artist Statement : As an emerging abstract painter living and working outside of Washington, D.C. in Potomac, Maryland, I use nature as a vehicle for my creativity. I believe art should be tactile - drawing the collector into the piece itself in order to evoke an exchange of feelings and memories. In this case, "Il Pellicano" is a textural homage to the pelican -- an animal who knows how to assess an opportunity when they see one. They find a perch where they can observe with intent and patience -- waiting for the exact right moment to catch their food. As the pelican in this painting sits upon his perch, he is astutely observing the world around us; a lesson we could all learn from in life's often frantic pace.

Angelique Luro
$425.00

Dimensions: 12 x 12 x 1
Media: Acrylic on art board, 12x12x3/4"
Artist Statement : "Lost Melodies" was inspired by the music that touches my soul, perhaps a song that rekindles a fond memory or a sad chapter in my story. When I hear those first notes there is an instantaneous stirring in my heart. I listen to music as I paint, it is an integral part of my practice. There are times when a song touches me so deeply the piece I am working on takes on the lyrics and the lyrics become the art.
