This cellist appeared within the chaos of an abstract painting after attending a cello recital. The music and images of the cellists became engraved in my mind. Using a form of reductive painting, I carved her and her lovely cello out of the abstract shapes by painting the background in a more subdued color. The overall treatment of the subject and surrounding elements provides a sense of rhythm and movement, much like the beautiful music played by the cellist.
